The Process
Estimate: We will provide an estimate from drawings you submit to us or if you prefer we will visit your site to determine what is required.
Estimate Approval & Deposit: Customer signs and returns estimate, with a Purchase Order if necessary, accompanied by a deposit and your desired template date. Please also provide us with a complete jobsite and billing address, contact name and phone number(s).
Turnaround Time: RE Marble & Granite sets the standard for turnaround time from template to install – we install most jobs in 5-6 workdays after the template is completed.
Stone Selection & Acquisition: We stock hundreds of full slabs in up to 50 different colors and maintain an inventory of hundreds more remnants suitable for smaller projects. We partner with Marble & Granite and several other local stone importers to offer literally hundreds of different colors to choose from. Your stone must be selected prior to templating to ensure scheduling.
Scheduling: Customer must have cabinets permanently installed and all sinks, faucets, soap dispenser, cooktops, downdraft fans, or other items affecting the placement and fabrication of countertops and backsplashes (trim, outlets, etc.) PRIOR to our arrival for the template. If the job is a countertop replacement only, old countertops must be removed for the template. REMG can provide this service for a fee. When this is determined we will schedule both the Template and Installation dates.
Template: Our templater will come to your home, on time, to measure and/or template your job. Our field personnel are dressed appropriately and can communicate clearly in English. You must have all fixtures on hand for the template including sinks, faucets, cooktops and other appliances that affect the size and shape of the stone. It is critical to have the owner or a responsible decision maker on site to address the details of overhang, radii, seam location, design features, etc. The template process takes an average of 2hrs for a typical kitchen.
Change Order/Adjust Estimate: If needed we will adjust the estimate to any changes from the original drawing and/or additional products or service added at the template.
Layout: RE always minimizes seams after considering slab size, site conditions, etc. Stones are cut to protect both the natural beauty of the stone and its structural integrity.
Fabrication: Our experienced artisans will handcraft your project to our own exacting standards within a week!
Installation: Our installers will arrive as scheduled or call to advise you of any delays. They will be dressed appropriately and will communicate clearly. It is important to have a decision maker on site. The installation process averages 2hrs but varies greatly with each project. Our material is both heavy and cumbersome to move. PLEASE have a clear path to the working area free of ice, snow, construction material, furniture, toys, etc. Our professional installers will protect your property as they complete their work and will leave the area clean of debris. Some fabrication techniques create stone dust which we endeavor to minimize.
